A new genre – bad orchestra

This version of Thus Spake Zareathustra was recorded by the Portsmouth Sinfonia, an ensemble that encouraged people who couldn’t play their instruments to join. The orchestra started as a one-off, tongue-in-cheek performance art ensemble in 1970, but became a cultural phenomenon over the following ten years, with concerts, record albums, a film and a hit single. They last performed publicly in 1979.

These guys are just a really bad school band…..
